In the field of machining, despite the strict training provided by the various manufacturers, the emphasis on safety at the factory site and even the summary of a set of strict operating rules, accidents still occur from time to time and cannot be avoided. Collision has always been a major issue for factories, and the industry has been developing new technologies or new methods to prevent such incidents, such as automatic programming and simulation software like Mastercam. And some safety monitoring developed by machine tool manufacturers based on their systems, as well as improving the quality of workers through training, or by formulating codes of conduct for on-site operations to restrain "people" behaviour, such as "three checks, two requirements, one stop". But the reality is that collision happens all the time because of the involvement of "people", and the random and unpredictable nature of collision makes losses inevitable.

The picture above shows a FAMAR mill-turn machine tool for a customer. A collision occurred before the installation of collision protection, which led to the scrapping of the machine tool spindle and a direct economic loss of 200,000 yuan. After the installation of the collision protection product, a collision also occurred. But there was no major repair of the spindle or production line stoppage due to the collision. ● 1ms Emergency Stop, a miss is as good as a mile ●
Montronix collision protection consists of a full German imported high precision acceleration sensor, controller (black box) and monitoring software. Based on the high-precision acceleration sensor, it senses collision behaviour within 1ms and sends an emergency stop command to the machine tool to minimize collision loss. IBU-NG system uses high-precision tri-axis acceleration sensors to simultaneously sense the slightest amount of vibration from three-dimensional space, which is not possible with conventional sensors. Only by sensing data in space can we truly sense abnormal collisions from any direction in space. In turn, our unique hardware and algorithms allow the system to send an alarm to the machine tool within 1ms after the abnormal data has been collected and judged. The sooner the machine tool receives the alarm, the sooner it will be able to stop the machine and the less damage it will cause.

With the sensor and control box installation example, we can identify the following.
Abnormal collision from any direction during fast or slow feeds of the machine tool
Vibration overload, over-cutting and other abnormalities in the machine tool during cutting
Health of machine components (ball screw, spool, spindle, etc.)
We can do the following.
Real-time monitoring of the machining process to minimize serious losses due to accidental collision.

Real-time monitoring of changes in machine data during the operation of the machine tool to detect hidden machining problems that are normally overlooked.
Real-time recording of abnormal data generated during the operation of the machine tool to facilitate the tracing of problems at any time, enabling a "black box" function.
